It's been over a week since Nicholas joined us at Pebble IT. Nicholas is our new IT Support Apprentice working with the 1st line support team - so we thought it was time for a little Q&A to learn more about the man behind the tickets and who you might be working with.

1) What’s your role at Pebble IT, and what does a typical day look like for you?
My role is to support clients with 1st line support - this can vary from software to hardware issues, anything from a piece of software running slow to their printer not working. Every day is usually different, so you never really know what you could be doing when you clock in. Some days can be quite quiet and some days can be hectic - you never know!
2) How was your first week at Pebble IT, and what did you get up to?
It was great! I was introduced to everyone & got familiar with the systems & software I'd be using on a day to day basis. I got to help out with some simple tickets, set up computers for clients, and even got to visit a client site to assist the team with setting up their offices' computers and network!
3) What made you choose an IT apprenticeship?
I believe that getting to have hands-on experience is the best way to learn, and being able to do this whilst studying makes the perfect balance for learning and figuring out what parts you really enjoy about IT. You get a taste of what the industry is like whilst learning the fundamentals of IT, and you get paid too!
4) What interests you the most about IT?
The constant development of IT and technology in general is what interests me the most. There's always something new to learn and there's always new technology being rolled out daily - each day is always something different!
5) What drew you to join Pebble IT?
When I had my interview with them, they were genuine people who cared about the attitude of who they wanted to employ, not just your grades or what a piece of paper had to say. They believe that your desire to learn and grow is essential, which is exactly what I was looking for on my apprenticeship hunt.
6) What’s one tech tip you think everyone should know?
If it isn't broken, don't fix it!
7) If you could automate one part of your life with tech, what would it be?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner - it would be awesome on a lazy day to ask a computer to make you a meal, or just to save time whilst you're doing something else!
8) Coffee or tea – and how do you take it?
If I had to choose, I'd say coffee - I don't really drink either but coffee got me through my A Levels!
9) What’s a hobby or interest you enjoy outside of work?
I love music production - I work with producers and artists and network with producers, artists, engineers, A&Rs and managers all over the world, selling or sending out my beats and building relationships with lots of people whenever I can.
10) If you could have dinner with any tech pioneer (past or present), who would it be?
It would have to be Steve Jobs - I would love to know how it feels to create something out of nothing that has literally changed the world & ask for advice on how you even start to go about on a journey like his.
11) Favourite football team?
Arsenal!
